What does the wood aroma oil actually smell like?
Okay so it is not what you expect when you first open it. There is a freshness to it at the start, cedar and bergamot, almost light. But give it a few minutes in the diffuser and the whole thing shifts. It gets warmer and deeper, and by the time the palo santo, guaiac wood, and patchouli come through at the base, your room smells like somewhere you actually want to stay. Not heavy, not the kind of thing that gives you a headache. Just warm and full and genuinely good.
Is this a good woody scent oil for a living room?
It is probably the best room for it. Woody scents do not fight with a living space the way sharp florals or strong citrus can. They just settle in and feel like they have always been there. This one has enough going on that you will not get tired of it after a few days either. Some scents you love for a week and then start ignoring. This one tends to stick around in the best way.
What makes palo santo and guaiac wood different from regular cedar?
Cedar is fine, but it is a bit one-dimensional. Clean and slightly sharp, it does the job. Palo Santo is a completely different experience. How long does a bottle last in a cold-air diffuser?
At around 10 hours of daily use, a 500ml bottle gets you 25 to 30 days. A 200ml bottle is closer to 10 to 12 days at the same rate. Turn the intensity down a little and you will squeeze more out of it. Just make sure you are using it in a cold-air machine only. Water-based or ultrasonic diffusers are not right for this oil, and you will not get the same result.
Does this help with sleep?
It is not going to replace your lavender routine if you have one, but the base notes in this oil, palo santo and patchouli specifically, have a naturally grounding quality that works well in the evening. A lot of people run it in the bedroom for an hour or so before sleep and say the room just feels calmer and easier to switch off in. Worth trying if you find lighter oils too subtle at night.
